I enrolled my 16-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son in separate tech device courses that Tova offered. They were individualized to their age group, and the content for their specific groups demonstrated that Tova understands where children and teens are at developmentally. Both children were somewhat reluctant about doing it (can't blame them!), but both were positive after doing so. From the feedback my kids gave, Tova related to them and provided a lot of info (very thorough!) in an organized, efficient, and engaging manner. She also followed up with notes for the parents which were equally valuable. I liked that my kids were able to hear technology-related concerns/info from someone other than their parents (tends to be more believable!), and that they learned new things too!
This program was such a life saver. We decided to get a group of our kids together and work with Tova. I have been talking to my son about what it means to get a phone and I knew he was only partially listening. Hearing the important information from someone unattached who knows just how to talk to teens, meant he was really listening. The best part was the follow up, so I knew what he learned and could continue the conversation. Thank you!
My Daughter has been using a phone for a while and I can see the stress it is causing her, even if she wont admit it. It was great to have her learn with a group of peers and talk about how to use her phone in a more healthy way. I also decided to take advantage and coach with Tova. I got some great tips and suggestions that are already working!
Tova offers an opportunity for parents to be proactive by offering courses such a pre-cell phone class. Having worked with teens for 15 years, I knew by having an expert share the ins and outs of cell phone use, our whole family would benefit long term. We were so grateful Tova offered an all boys group! After signing our family cell phone policy contract, that Tova helped us create, our son will be well equipped for his next step in added responsibility.
